Profile
Lora Billings is Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics. She is an applied mathematician with specialization in the analysis of dynamical systems and chaos. She is a full professor and currently the editor-in-chief of the SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems. From 2014-2017, she served as a program director in the Division of Mathematical Sciences at the National Science Foundation. In 2018, she was appointed Dean of the College, the first woman to hold that position. Dr. Billings strives to create a community of support and mentoring to increase a sense of belonging and student success. She is a strong advocate for women and minorities and received the Association for Women in Science Mentoring Award in 2019.
Dr. Billings holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a B.S. in Mathematics from Lafayette College. She was awarded the Â鶹Ai»»Á³ Distinguished Research Award in 2008.
